US media reported that the 75-year-old monarch was advised not to respond to the Duke of Sussex’s attempts to contact him to resolve the dispute. “I know people are always asking, ‘Why didn’t he see Harry when he came home? Why couldn’t they make up?’,” royal author Robert Hardman told Fox News .

“But right now, we need to keep the king as stress-free as possible. We don’t want him to worry about other things. Let’s just leave it at that. Now is probably not the time,” Hardman added.

“If you listen to what Harry says in the TV series, memoirs and interviews, there’s a lot to discover,” said the author of The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy .

Hardman also said that the king still has “a lot of things to work out” but now is not the right time. “But I’m sure the king wants to normalize things,” the royal expert said.

Earlier in October, several newspapers also reported that Queen Camilla had prevented King Charles III from seeing Harry when the prince returned to London for a private event. The 78-year-old queen is said to have advised her ailing husband to stay away from his youngest son to reduce unnecessary stress from his battle with cancer.

King Charles III has only met Harry once this year, when he flew home in February after hearing of his father’s cancer diagnosis. Harry returned to London in May, ready to meet his father to discuss a possible reconciliation. However, the meeting never took place.
