Duchess Kate may receive a title even more prestigious than her mother-in-law’s, while Meghan’s household continues to decline due to “careless remarks.”

How will Kate’s title differ from her mother-in-law Camilla’s?

Kate’s title as Duchess of Cambridge is expected to change in the future when Prince William inherits the throne and may not be the same as Camilla’s when Prince Charles becomes King.

Prince William is currently second in line to the throne, behind his father Prince Charles. Once the Prince becomes King, William will automatically become heir apparent.

Therefore, William will likely receive a new royal title. According to British media, William is likely to become the holder of the Duchy of Cornwall, he will be the Duke of Cornwall and Kate, as William’s wife, will automatically become the Duchess of Cornwall.

However, Prince Charles could also make William Prince of Wales, a title usually reserved for the heir to the throne. And if that happens, Kate would likely become Princess of Wales, a title held by Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana.

Like her late mother-in-law, Kate may be known to the public as Princess Catherine (her full name is Catherine Elizabeth Middleton) or remain as Princess Kate. When Prince William becomes king, Kate may be called Queen Consort or Queen Catherine.

While many people predicted that Kate would one day become Queen Catherine, Camilla was not eagerly expected to be Queen of the United Kingdom. When Prince Charles and Camilla married in 2005, it was reported that Camilla would be called Princess Consort when her husband became King.

This decision was made due to public opposition at that time because they did not support the marriage of Charles and Camilla. Mrs. Camilla was labeled as the “third person” when she interfered in the marriage of the Prince of England and Princess Diana.

In addition, Camilla also did not use the title Princess of Wales, although she was eligible to be recognized, to maintain respect for Diana and avoid causing noisy controversies. Currently, Camilla is using the title Duchess of Cornwall.
