Recently, more and more A-list couples have secretly broken up without announcing it to the world, typically Jada Pinkett and Will Smith separated in 2016 but revealed it in October 2023. A few days later, Page Six reported that star Meryl Streep and husband Don Gummer had also been separated for more than 6 years.
In an interview with Mirror , relationship expert Louella Alderson, co-founder of dating app So Syncd, said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could follow the example of the above couples if they decide to divorce. The reason is said to be that in addition to being connected by love, their relationship is also for business purposes. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is not just a title, but also a brand they created for their Hollywood career.
“Harry and Meghan make a lucrative team and their joint venture has the potential to continue to bring in significant income for their family. While they have their individual struggles, their partnership has proven to be beneficial for both of them professionally. If they split up, it could impact their careers, especially for a couple who have built their brand on their relationship,” Alderson explains.

For those just starting out in building their brand, the media attention surrounding the end of a marriage can be difficult to handle, she said. In addition, they need to maintain their family to create a healthy environment for their children to grow up in.
“It is common for celebrities to maintain a united front in the public eye. They may choose to present themselves as a solid and happy couple even if they have actually been separated for years. This is often to avoid the inevitable media attention and speculation, and to protect their image and brand,” Alderson said.
Regarding the trip to the Caribbean in October, Alderson said that the Sussexes needed some space after being constantly closely monitored and their every move was dissected.
Another expert, Kate Mansfield, agreed with Alderson’s argument, saying that Harry and Meghan were under more pressure than other couples to be happy and live together as a family due to their royal background.
“We only have to look at King Charles and Queen Camilla to see for sure that royals have a tradition of keeping secrets, even for long periods of time,” Mansfield said.
She believes that the red-haired prince and the Suits actress are still far from going their separate ways. According to the expert, the two new Hollywood stars are smart enough and recognize the value of keeping themselves in a healthy relationship, knowing how to balance personal space and family time.
Previously, Harry and Meghan were rumored to have broken up in July. At the time, Radar Online ‘s source said Harry was finding it difficult to adapt to Meghan’s noisy and scandalous Hollywood world. However, Page Six quickly denied the information, affirming that there was no separation.
