Prince William shouted, punched the air and screamed at the top of his lungs when his beloved football club Aston Villa defeated Bayern Munich for the first time in 42 years. The future king was still a month from birth when the popular English team last emerged victorious over Bayern in May 1982.
“I’ve lost my voice,” His Royal Highness shared via Daily Mail. “I can’t quite believe it. 42 years.”
The next king has a long-standing relationship with Aston Villa as a devoted fan. He has publicly expressed his admiration for the club, supporting them since childhood. HRH said he enjoys Villa because they are a “rollercoaster” team, offering both excitement and challenges.
The heir to the throne’s passion for the team reflects his broader love for football, and he is often seen at matches, including with his family, which sometimes includes Prince George, 11.
William’s joyful sporting outburst followed a meeting with another sports icon earlier in the week.
Only hours after Prince Harry attended the WellChild Awards in London, on Monday, September 30, the Prince of Wales “pulled a Sussex” and surprisingly met up with David Beckham.
The rumored ex-bestie of both Harry and Meghan Markle, along with his wife, Victoria, met the future king at RAF Northolt in West London to celebrate the conclusion of the London Air Ambulance’s “Up Against Time,” which has raised millions for the purchase of two new helicopters for the unit.
The monarch-in-waiting and Catherine, Princess of Wales, also decided to finally share a “private weekend” together at Balmoral Castle sometime in September, which also made headlines. The future king and queen reportedly dropped George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis off with the Middleton family before heading to the Scottish Highlands estate.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl shared, “Palace sources would not comment because the trip was private, however, it is believed to be the first solo trip William and Catherine have made to Scotland without their three children for some time.”
Sources near the vast royal enclosure dished, “The Prince and Princess had a private weekend and appeared to be on good form. The King was also in very good spirits.”
The future queen is officially cancer-free and shared details about her prognosis in a “moving” clip on @kensingtonroyal’s official social accounts in early September. “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” she said. “Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
