According to Mirror , a representative of the publisher Transworld Penguin Random House said that Prince Harry’s memoir is the best-selling autobiography of all time that the company has ever published.
At the book launch, people showed up in large numbers, surrounding the bookstore to buy Harry’s memoir, which criticized the British Royal Family. In just the first day, Spare sold 400,000 copies, from traditional books to audiobooks and electronic versions.
“We always assumed Spare would be a success, but it exceeded our expectations. As far as I know, the world’s best-selling books are usually about Harry Potter, but now it’s about Harry from the British Royal Family,” said Larry Finlay, the publisher’s chief executive.
According to the publisher, Spare tells the Duke of Sussex’s story with “raw honesty,” Harry’s journey from trauma to healing.
The 416-page memoir was leaked in Spain five days before its release. Harry’s revelations in Spare shocked the international media. The contradictions and hidden corners of the British Royal Family made the audience expectant.
