Meghan Markle should ‘be a lady not a hustler’ says controversial Lady Colin Campbell on Good Morning Britain
LADY Colin Campbell is not known for holding back her opinions when it comes to Meghan Markle – and today said the duchess should “be a lady not a hustler”.
The author, 69, who has published three books on the royal family, said the Duchess of Sussex, 38, needs to “change her act” from being an actress to royal.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Lady Colin said: “I have an awful feeling that Meghan needs to understand things that she doesn’t yet understand.
“Like there’s a massive difference between being a celebrity hustling your way from the bottom to the top – and she was a very proud hustler, she used to use the word hustle for herself and her first husband very proudly – and being a lady or being a royal.
“You don’t hustle, the values, the embodiment is completely different.”
Host Kate Garraway asked how Meghan was currently doing in the role as a member of the royal family.

Despite her criticism of the duchess, Lady Colin replied: “I think the verdict is out at the moment. I’m rooting for Meghan.
“I hope that Meghan is going to do as she appeared in the very early days that she would be doing.
“I have to say, the ride has been rather rockier than one would have hoped.”
The outspoken Jamaican-born British writer continued: “She’s sorted, she’s got it. I think she needs to now embrace it and understand it’s a new game in town.
“She’s an actress; she needs to come up with a new act.”

It’s not the first time Lady Colin has given some bold opinions on the Duchess of Sussex, who turned 38 on Sunday.
The writer previously urged the Duchess of Sussex to stop acting like a celebrity and branded her “cheap and vulgar” in an explosive interview.
Speaking to Closer magazine she said: “She was never an A-lister, so she needs to stop acting like one.
“Royalty do not behave like celebrities do. It’s cheap, vulgar and irresponsible.”
There’s a massive difference between being a celebrity hustling your way from the bottom to the top and being a lady or being a royal.

The royal writer went on to say that Meghan was “letting down” those who admire her by behaving this way.
In April she advised that Meghan should avoid becoming a “political activist” as the “royals must represent all of the people” and she should know when “keep her mouth shut”.
Lady Colin added: “There are many conservative people, all over the world, many religious people, who do not have these ‘woke’ and ‘right-on’ views.”

It comes as Meghan is the guest-editor of British Vogue’s September issue.
The project saw the Duchess of Sussex select 15 women to be featured on the cover, choosing not to star herself, whom she hails “forces for change.”
The magazine has sparked a storm of protest, with critics reminding Meghan that royals must remain neutral at all times.
