Meghan wants Harry to “let go of the past” and move towards the future but still maintain royal ties for two benefits.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family in January 2020, but they have maintained their connection to the Royal Family for two main reasons. One expert says it’s not just about their titles, but also about their children’s futures.

Since stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family in January 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have maintained their connection to the Royal Family in two important ways. Not only have they retained their titles, but they have also allowed their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to use them. They have also continued to make “semi-royal” visits.

However, despite still using her royal title, Meghan has not joined Harry on any visits to the UK since Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022. Despite the gap, one royal expert believes the Duchess’s connection to the royal family is not over.

Former royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “If Meghan is encouraging Harry to move on, it’s a healthy move. They’ve made a decision to leave the royal family and leave the UK.” She said holding on to unhappy memories from the past is a waste of life, and Meghan seems to agree.

Meghan understands Harry’s desire to stay in touch with the UK. However, Jennie stressed that having only been a royal for less than two years, it was natural for Meghan to distance herself from the role. “On the contrary, she doesn’t have to worry about a complicated royal past,” she said.

As Harry approaches his 40th birthday on September 15, he has just completed a “semi-royal” trip to Colombia, which many commentators have said is a good move to help him maintain connections to his service background. Jennie suggested that Harry is trying to blend his former royal life with his new life in California.

She stressed that Harry doesn’t spend all his time looking back, but the fond memories of family gatherings may mean he’s missing that connection. “Harry wrote about those precious memories in his book ‘Spare,’ and it’s only natural that he’s looking back on those connections now,” she said. Meanwhile, Meghan appears to have completely abandoned her brief experience as a royal, apart from the titles and respect they brought.

While Harry is looking to reconnect with his family, Meghan appears to be comfortable keeping minimal contact with the royal family, partly for the sake of their children.
