Meghan Markle has been out of the spotlight while her husband Prince Harry has been on a string of solo engagements, but a PR expert believes there could be a reason why she’s been laying low.
Meghan dropped a hint about possibly writing a memoir, two years ago when visiting the UK
Since the release of Prince Harry’s explosive memoir, Spare, everyone has been asking the same question – will Meghan Markle pen her own tell-all book?
In Spare, Harry didn’t hold back in his criticism of the Royal Family, particularly his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William. He also detailed the circumstances that led to him and Meghan dramatically stepping down from their royal duties.
Nearly two years after the release of Spare, there is rampant speculation that Meghan might write her own book. Industry insiders believe she could be offered millions to officially share her side of the story, reports the Mirror UK.
She seemed to hint at a potential book in a controversial interview conducted just days before the Queen’s passing.
In August 2022, Meghan spoke with New York Magazine’s The Cut about her life in California. During the interview, she revealed that she was not required to sign an NDA when she and Harry made the shocking decision to step down as working royals in 2020.
Meghan kept a journal while a working member of the Royal Family
Meghan revealed she stumbled upon a journal she kept during her time with the Royal Family, when she returned for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. The Sussexes were staying at Frogmore Cottage, their former residence, and Meghan realized she had left a diary behind by mistake.
She said: “You go back and you open drawers and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there.'”
Roya Nikkhah, Sunday Times Royal Editor, weighed in on Meghan’s remarks during an appearance on True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat saying Meghan interview with The Cut came across as “thinly veiled threats” and that “there was a very strong inference there.”
Harry and Meghan were “connected at the hip” and now they’re pursuing separate careers, it’s being said
Nikkhah added: “I was astonished to discover that she had left a highly private diary behind in Windsor, rather than taking it back.”
“She’s mentioned a couple of times in the last year or two that she kept a journal, and I think there is a very strong inference that Meghan could write her own memoir.”
While Meghan has been stepping back from the public eye as Harry engages in solo activities in New York, London, and currently Lesotho in southern Africa, speculation arises about her absence.
