Meghan Markle has been at the centre of speculation for months that she could be poised to pen her own tell-all memoir after Prince Harry released his bombshell book, Spare
Prince Harry’s explosive memoir ‘Spare’ had tongues wagging across the globe. Now attention has turned to whether Meghan Markle will pen her own bombshell tell-all.
In his book, Harry didn’t hold back, dishing the dirt on Royal family feuds with King Charles and Prince William. He detailed his and Meghan’s jaw-dropping exit from their Royal gigs.
It’s been nearly two swinging years since ‘Spare’ hit the shelves, and gossip is buzzing that Meghan might toss her hat into the literary ring next. Book industry insiders reckon she could nab a hefty pay cheque to spill the beans on her Royal rollercoaster ride.
And get this – Meghan dropped what many thought was a “thinly veiled threat” about writing a book during a scandalous sit-down just before the Queen passed away.
In a chinwag with The Cut from August 2022, Meghan chatted about life in California post-Megxit and her podcast ‘Archetypes’. She let slip that nobody slapped a gag order on her when she and Harry spectacularly ditched their Royal day jobs, reports the Mirror.
Meghan spilt the Royal beans, revealing she stumbled across her personal diary tucked away at Frogmore Cottage her former Royal pad during her UK return for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bash.
Chatting about that nostalgic find before bidding adieu to the cottage keys, Meghan shared: “You go back and you open drawers and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there.'”.
Post Meghan’s bombshell reflections, Sunday Times Royal Editor Roya Nikkhah weighed in on True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat, hinting that some of Meg’s words pack a punch.
Explaining all, she said: “The thinly veiled threats that came in [Meghan’s interview with The Cut] …I think [she] probably hopes it does [feel threatening] to the Royal Family… [But] I think there’s a lot of eye-rolling, going, ‘We’re used to this by now’… [But] that phrase, ‘I have a lot to say until I don’t’ and, ‘I’ve never signed anything that restricts me from talking’… there was a very strong inference there.”
She added, a tad gobsmacked: “And, of course, the reminder that she keeps a journal, and [her] revelation that, ‘when we came back to Windsor, to Frogmore Cottage for the Jubilee, I rediscovered my journal that I’d left there’ – I was astonished to discover that she had left a highly private diary behind in Windsor, rather than taking it back.”
“She’s mentioned a couple of times in the last year or two that she kept a journal, and I think there is a very strong inference that Meghan could write her own memoir.”
While Meghan has been laying low from the public eye, Harry’s been out and about, hitting up New York, London, and currently Lesotho in southern Africa solo.
