Even Meghan Markle appears to get camera shy sometimes, with the Duchess of Sussex caught ducking behind a friend on the red carpet after striking a fierce pose for photographers.
The 43-year-old attended a charity gala in aid of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on Saturday night, wearing a daring $5,990 Carolina Herrera gown that she had worn to a 2021 event in New York.
In a recently shared TikTok, which has since gone viral, the mom-of-two can be seen posing for photographers on the red carpet while hand-in-hand with friend Kelly McKee Zajfen.
The former working royal leaned away from her pal to strike a pose in front of photographers on her own when she appeared to suddenly get camera shy.
Meghan seemed to get embarrassed with her sultry pose before giggling, turning back and edging to stand behind Kelly’s shoulder.
The moment was caught on camera, with a user uploading to TikTok with an overlaid caption that read: ‘She was serving too much and got shy.’
A clip of the moment was liked 46,000 times and viewed 832,000 times after being posted on line.
Users were charmed by the royal’s rare moment of shyness.
‘Awhhh my Dutchess is shy, awwhhhh,’ one gushed.
‘Meghan Markle the woman that you areeee,’ one user wrote.
‘Hanging with one of her best friends who’s been through such unimaginable loss in the past year. Glad she was there to support her,’ added another.
But the sentiment is at odds with claims that Meghan was ‘just there for the photographs,’ according to a former friend.
British socialite Lizzie Cundy, 56, who was present at the event with the Duchess of Sussex, told the Mail: ‘There wasn’t a great deal of warmth from people when she arrived. She wasn’t there long – she seemed to be there for the photographs.’
Kelly, who is the co-founder for the Alliance of Moms, an LA ‘community of philanthropists who support pregnant and parenting teens in LA’s foster care system, later posted a photo of them to Instagram.
In the sweet message, she paid tribute to the care the hospital has given her daughter Lily, who suffers from a heart condition.
She also made a rare comment about her friendship with Meghan.

‘I was also beyond grateful to share in this beautiful evening with one of my closest friends,’ she wrote on the post.
‘Meg, your commitment to supporting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and community is truly inspiring. I’m so grateful to have you by my side.’
Kelly also suffered a tragedy in 2022 when her son, George, nine, passed away from COVID-19 and viral meningitis.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have formed a vital part of Kelly and her husband Julian’s support network, with the pair last month attending a tennis tournament the day before Harry’s 40th birthday in remembrance of George.
Kelly, who co-founded Alliance of Moms, praised Harry and Meghan for being a ‘guiding light’ following the tragic death of her son.
‘Harry and Meghan, you have been such a guiding light for our family not just in the way you have shown up in friendship, but how you have shown up through the incredible work The Archewell Foundation does every day.
The post continued: ‘I’m in awe of your commitment to community and to friendship. On behalf of the Alliance for Children’s Rights, we thank you. On behalf of our family, we love you.’
