Duchess Meghan is reportedly planning to launch a rosé wine under the American Riviera Orchard label in a bid to ‘cash in’.
Earlier this year, Meghan introduced two products from her upcoming lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard. However, the rosé is the first product to be sold to the public.
According to the Mail , this wine has huge commercial significance. It is said to bring in more revenue for Meghan than other items. “As a product, wine is expected to sell more – and be more financially profitable – than jam,” the British newspaper commented.
The former American actress has been known to enjoy rosé in the past, and she even chose the drink for her first date with Prince Harry in 2016. “Like many Cali influencers, she loves a glass of rosé. She’s also a fan of ‘frosé’ – a concoction made by mixing chilled rosé with strawberries and a little sugar and ice for extra sweetness – which is a favourite with Instagrammers,” the Mail reported .
The Duchess of Sussex is not the first celebrity to produce wine. Many other celebrities have made a fortune selling wine, including Cameron Diaz, Kylie Minogue, Brad Pitt, Francis Ford Coppola.
Meghan has not confirmed the launch of a rosé wine. However, she has sent jams and dog biscuits labeled American Riviera Orchard to famous friends in recent months. In April, Meghan launched a strawberry jam in a batch of 50 jars. In mid-month, the youngest daughter-in-law of King Charles III revealed a very limited edition raspberry jam – just two jars. The former actress also sent a jar of dog biscuits to her husband’s close friend, polo player Nacho Figueras.
