Prince Harry’s candid top secret remark after being questioned about King’s health.
Prince Harry returned to London last week to visit his father, King Charles, after he was diagnosed with cancer. Prince Harry gave a strange response when asked how he was doing, saying it was “top secret” but adding that he’s grateful to be a father.”
In his first interview since flying around the world to spend 30 minutes with his father, King Charles, Harry gave somewhat frank answers to presenter Will Reeve. Speaking on Good Morning America from Canada, Harry explained how he learned of the news about his father and how he has been feeling since the meeting in London last week. Broadcaster Will Reeve asked Harry: “How did you get the news of the king’s illness?” He simply replied: “I spoke to him.” He was then asked: What did you do after that?. “I jumped on the plane and went to see him as soon as I could,” Harry continued.
Speaking about his visit, he added: “I love my family, and the fact that I was able to get on the plane and spend some time with him, I’m grateful for that.” In response to a question about his expectations regarding the king’s health, Harry said: “That remains between him and me.”
The presenter then asked Reeve about the possibility of his family reuniting following the news, and Harry encouraged: “I’m sure. The strength of a family unit together – I see that all the time.” He added that he is “planning other trips,” saying that he will stop and see his family during those trips. Then he asked him how he felt, and he said, “I can’t tell you it’s a top secret. I’m so grateful to be a father.”
Through the interview, royal fans are hoping for the possibility of a reconciliation between the Duke of Sussex’s and the rest of his family. Harry is not believed to have met his brother Prince William during his visit last week, with tensions between the pair worsening after Harry made a number of claims in his book; Spare.
But with their father diagnosed with cancer, it is thought the brothers may have to put aside their differences to be there for the king, who was diagnosed during treatment for an enlarged prostate. Buckingham Palace said the king had begun regular treatments and would postpone public duties during this time. The statement added that the king remains completely positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public service as soon as possible.
