In a past interview, the star talked about all her ups and downs living as the former Duchess of Sussex with the royal family, where she also talked about her trip with her husband to Canada shortly before their exit as the Duke and Duchess. She remembered that she was greeted by a member of the crew of the plane they were traveling on, who thanked her for all the sacrifices she made for the royal family. She was so emotional at the time that when they landed in the US, she couldn’t stand straight, and ended up falling in her bodyguard’s arms. She said:

While it may have been impossible for the common folk to know about the reasons for the former royal couple’s drastic decision to leave the royal family, their Netflix docuseries gives us much-needed insight into what went behind closed doors during their life as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
One of the main reasons, as explained by Markle herself, she felt suffocating living with the royal family, which didn’t help considering the fact that she had to completely change her lifestyle to accommodate the needs and expectations of her family members.
