Meghan Markle fears Prince Harry is being “naïve” for wanting to fix his relationship with Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton – and feels he “still can’t trust” his elder brother.

That’s according to a royal expert, who claims the Duchess of Sussex is “terrified” her beloved husband will be “made a fool of again”, as she sees it.

As Harry gears up for a UK visit next month, he’s reportedly eager to mend fences with Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales, especially in light of Kate’s recent cancer diagnosis. But Meghan is said to be less than thrilled about the prospect, fearing Harry might end up hurt by the attempt at reconciliation.

A royal insider has said that Meghan is sceptical about Harry’s desire to smooth things over with his brother and sister-in-law.

The royal insider told OK!: “It would never bother Meghan if she didn’t see William and Kate again and sadly knows that there is no relationship between her children and George, Charlotte and Louis. She would’ve loved that to happen but the Waleses have made it clear they don’t want it.

“But she knows deep down that Harry wants to fix the relationship and the Kate news has made him more determined to try and do it. But she thinks Harry is being naive and that he still can’t trust William. She’s terrified he’ll be made a fool of again and William will use him. She knows she makes better decisions than Harry as she won’t let her emotions rule her, but she fears she’s losing control over this situation.”

They added: “Meghan knows she is facing a losing battle when it comes to Harry reaching out to Kate and William to try and sort through their differences, but she thinks he’s making a big mistake. She obviously feels sympathy for Kate and what she’s going through, but in her mind, it doesn’t change things.”

Prince Harry will be visiting the UK next month for a special service to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral,

Last month, the Princess Of Wales courageously shared a video message announcing her preventative chemotherapy treatment for an unspecified cancer, following abdominal surgery earlier in the year.

With William and their kids George, 10, Charlotte, eight, and Louis, five, at her side, Kate’s health battle has reportedly moved Harry to seek a heartfelt reunion so he can support them. Earlier this year, King Charles also shared his own cancer diagnosis, prompting a brief visit from Harry who returned home shortly after.

According to Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, the ill-health of family members could be key in thawing the frosty relations between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William. He said: “With Catherine and the King’s illness – that is an enormous game changer even when there are deep family rifts.”

However, our insider tells us that Meghan hasn’t been able to let go of her past grievances. Clocking over four years since their Royal departure, Meghan still finds herself aggrieved by the turmoil they endured, unable to fully forgive the Windsors for an apology that never came.

The source added: “She wants her [Kate] to make a full recovery and for the family to all be ok but four years on from leaving and she’s still upset by it all and can never fully forgive the royals for what they put her and Harry through and have never apologised.”

Since their decision to step back from Royal duties in January 2020 and relocate to California, where they are raising their two children, Archie, four, and Lilibet, two; Meghan and Harry have been quite vocal about their Royal trials and tribulations.

Harry’s memoir titled ‘Spare’, published in 2023 and revealing candid insights into his Royal experiences, is one such avenue. Harry, who is set to visit his homeland next month, describes his sibling Will as his “beloved brother and arch-nemesis” in the book, recounting a physical altercation from 2019 that ostensibly arose from name-calling levelled at Meghan as being “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive”.
