The heartbreaking reason Meghan Markle will likely stay away when Prince Harry visits the UK has been revealed by a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, will arrive in London for an Invictus Games ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral – but his wife is worried about being booed by the British public again, it’s been claimed.

A spokesman for the couple confirmed Meghan would not accompany her husband to a service at St Paul’s Cathedral to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games on May 8.

Instead, the Duchess of Sussex, 42, will fly from the US to Nigeria to meet her husband for an official visit immediately afterward.

Mail Online’s Richard Eden reports that the mother-of-two is concerned about returning because she doesn’t want to feel unwelcome by royalists at St. Paul’s for the second time.

Meghan and Harry visited the historic landmark in 2022 to take part in celebrations for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

However, upon exiting the car, they were met with some smiles, cheers, and applause, but also some booing.

Speaking on Palace Confidential, the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden said: “She does not want to return to Britain in a hurry. There are many people here who won’t be sad about that. Meghan will be wary of getting booed at St. Pauls”.

In September 2022, the Duchess of Sussex, along with her husband Harry, Kate, and William, visited Windsor Castle to greet mourners paying respects to the late Queen.

The former “fab-four” walked around, engaging with people offering their condolences during this difficult time.

However, when Meghan attempted to shake hands with one woman, she was ignored. The woman refused to reciprocate Meghan’s gesture, turning her head away from the former Suits star.

Meghan and Harry have received an invitation from Nigeria’s chief of defence staff to participate in cultural activities.

They will meet with service members and their families and engage in traditional cultural events, as reported by Nigerian media.
