I have been resorting my 67 GTO now since 1987 .. I had a body shop to come over and look at my car and to give me a Estimate, for painting my car and he said it would be between 30 and 40,000. What is your thoughts?
For a top of the line paint job your only looking at 7-10k I’d keep looking and the car looks
This 1967 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupe is finished in Cameo Ivory over a red vinyl interior and powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a numbers-matching M20 four-speed manual transmission and 3.55:1 Saf-T-Track rear differential. Equipment includes 15″ Rallye II wheels, power-assisted drum brakes, power steering, chrome bumpers and trim, a dual exhaust system, custom seat belts, a Rally gauge package, a Hurst shifter, and a push-button AM radio. The car is said to have spent time in Arizona before being acquired by the seller in 2015 and subsequently relocated to Oregon and refurbished. The refurbishment which was completed in 2020 consisted of bodywork, a repaint, and refreshing the drivetrain and engine. This GTO is offered with PHS documentation, refurbishment photos, spare parts, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.
The car was originally finished in Cameo Ivory and was repainted during the refurbishment in 2020. Features include painted pinstripes, GTO and Hurst badging, a hood scoop, stacked vertical headlamps, chrome bumpers, a fender-mounted antenna, and bright finished rocker and wheel opening trim. The seller notes that during refurbishment the hood, trunk lid, and fenders were acid dipped, and the driver side floor pan and trunk floor were replaced and metal repairs were performed to the base of the windshield and rear window. Paint blemishes are noted between the hood and fender on both sides and that the front of the right door has been touched up.
The 15″ Rallye II wheels wear trim rings and PMD center caps and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A white letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes. The seller notes dings on the trim rings.
The interior was reupholstered in the factory red vinyl and features a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. The 400ci V8 breathes through a four-barrel carburetor, Ram Air pan, air cleaner, manifolds, and exhaust system. The engine is said to have been rebuilt during refurbishment under current ownership. The seller notes the throttle has to be pumped before starting if the vehicle has been sitting and a PerTronix Ignition setup has been installed.
