The long-standing rift between Prince Harry and Prince William shows no signs of weakening. A recent report sheds light on the pressing issue of the century, “William is a bit envious of [his brother’s] freedoms.” Harry and Meghan relocated to California in January 2020 after stepping back from their senior royal roles.
The couple resides in a $14 million home in Montecito with their kids, Archie and Lilibet. Since then, the Sussexes have tried to carve out their place in the media spotlight. Is this why William is jealous of Harry?
Prince William: The Future King is Envious of His Sibling
Royal historian Ed Owens agrees with a US weekly source, stating that Prince William “feels envious” of Harry’s achievements. Ed cited Harry’s work with the Invictus Games, an international multi-sport event for wounded servicemen and women. The Duke of Sussex founded it during his time as patron of the Royal Foundation. Owen says, “Harry has done remarkable things.”
Moreover, he noted the Invictus Games has garnered international attention, setting Harry’s work apart from other royals. To top it off, British journalist Robert Jobson’s old remark also echoed the same sentiment. Robert revealed that Harry’s success with the sports venture literally caught William off guard. He added, “I think there was a degree of jealousy about how well it had gone.”
Prince William was in awe of the money being thrown into the project and the involvement of several governments. Furthermore, the Duke has acknowledged the rivalry between him and William. He labelled the future King his “archnemesis” in his 2023 memoir, Spare. However, another source disclosed that Harry has moved on from that phase as he finds purpose in his life.
Harry’s All About Peaceful Vibes
The royal has extended invites to an Invictus Games anniversary event in London next month. We don’t know if Prince William or Kate intends to attend. They added, “He feels that his life has a purpose and that he can bring a lot of good to the world.” As for William, he’s facing pressure to uphold the monarchy’s stability and inspire public confidence. Yep, it’s no shocker, as we all know about Kate and King Charles III’s battles with cancer.
Meanwhile, Prince William recently attended the launch of James Place Newcastle’s new centre in Tyne, England. He interacted with people and responded positively when asked about Kate and the kids. Anyway, will Prince William be able to overcome his envy and extend forgiveness to Harry? Drop your thoughts below, and don’t forget to check out TV Season & Spoilers for more royal news!
