The Duchess of Sussex has made a statement regarding Afghan women resettling in the US after appearing alone at an early Thanksgiving celebration.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be in the process of “professional separation”. International media reported that their working relationship is “in a very bad state”. In the past few months, both the Suits star and Prince Harry have attended many events alone. Recently, Meghan also hosted an intimate dinner for the Southern California Welcome project without her husband.
After the event, the former actress shared on the Archewell website about the “heartfelt dinner” with Afghan women and their partner Mina’s List – an organization that empowers women in politics and human rights. “The initiative has spent the past year building community through storytelling and creating a safe space for Afghan women resettling in the United States. The evening included a communal meal that encouraged open conversation focusing on gratitude and resilience,” the statement read.

The Duchess of Sussex then thanked the attendees for bringing their personal stories and cultural experiences, and Meghan said she had plans to host more gatherings in the future. “The dinner was held at Our Place, founded by Shiza Shaid, where attendees were gifted brand new kitchenware for the upcoming festive season,” Meghan’s statement continued.

In addition, the 43-year-old duchess is “committed to empowering women and promoting community through shared experiences, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and helping each other in times of hardship.”

While Meghan attended private parties, Harry attended a series of events related to the Invictus Games in Vancouver . However, the former royal couple still appeared together in a video to honor Veterans Day in early November. It was also their first joint appearance in months.
The Sussexes are expected to attend the 2025 Invicuts Games in Canada, from February 8 to 16. At the 2023 event in Germany, Meghan hinted that her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, could appear at next year’s event.
