Prince George, 11, is said to love helping his mother, Princess Kate, with chores. “He’s very protective of his younger siblings and tries to help his mother with the chores, especially when he gets extra time playing video games!” an unnamed source told US Weekly. The source also described George as a “well-behaved, very sociable” boy , who has a close relationship with his father, Prince William, thanks to their shared interests.
George’s thoughtfulness and care for his younger siblings was evident when Prince Louis, 6, attended his first royal event at Christmas in Sandringham. Body language expert Judi James told the Mirror that George acted like a “real protector” to Louis, using “profound” gestures such as touching, talking and “ceremonial bows” to show his concern for his younger brother. Ms James also saw similarities in the way George treated Louis and the way Prince William looked after his older brother Harry when he was a child.
“The boy is definitely a ‘copy’ of his father, not just in appearance. They have a lot of common interests and hobbies ,” a source told US Weekly.
Although Prince William and his wife wanted their son to have as normal a childhood as possible, George is said to have become aware of his future role and has begun to appear more frequently with his family. Prince George made history by serving as “Robebearer of Honor” for his grandfather, King Charles III, at his coronation. It was the first time a future king had taken on the role.
The coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla also recalled Prince William and his wife’s tour of Australia in 2014. More than 30 years after Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s trip to Australia with their son, William returned to the country with his wife and son for an official visit to Australia and New Zealand.
George, then just nine months old, was dubbed “the one who won over the republicans” for his adorableness, which helped boost the royal family’s image on his first official overseas trip. He met a marsupial named after him, playfully stole another baby’s toys and even “got chubbier” after the trip, according to Kate.
However, George’s path to the throne could be different to that of his father and grandfather. According to the Mail on Sunday, the future king will not be required to serve in the army before ascending the throne, breaking with royal tradition. A source said George would be “free to shape his own destiny” and could skip “serving in the Armed Forces” .
