The paparazzi followed Princess Diana’s every move, making her the most photographed woman in the world even to this day. It’s well known that her marriage to Prince Charles was far from happy and eventually ended in divorce. Lady Diana once admitted in an interview that she was very unhappy in her marriage. “I understand it’s just their job, but sometimes I wish they wouldn’t,” Lady Di once said. This particular photo was taken when she was working at a preschool, right after she got engaged to Charles. In it, she looks visibly downhearted.
Diana often woke up in the morning with no desire to get out of bed, overwhelmed by a sense of deep sadness. But instead of receiving support from her husband, Charles labeled her as “unstable”—a label that would follow her for years.
It was during one public trip that Prince Charles first noticed how much more the public adored his young, beautiful wife. Sadly, there was nothing Diana could do to lessen his jealousy or fade from the public’s admiration
