Meghan appears in public amid controversy over her poor attitude towards staff.
In early September, the Hollywood Reporter quoted staff members who worked for the Sussexes as saying that everyone feared Meghan.
“She looks down on people. She doesn’t listen to advice. They’re both poor decision makers. They change their minds all the time. Harry is very charming but also very emotional. She (Meghan) is horrible. She’s absolutely ruthless. She walks around like a dictator in high heels, angry and barking orders. I’ve seen her reduce grown men to tears,” the source alleged.
At the same time, a Daily Beast source, who claimed to have worked for Meghan and Harry before they left the British royal family, called Meghan “evil” for repeatedly mistreating former staff. The insider insisted that he had seen Meghan berate staff in person and on the phone.
A second insider, who reportedly worked with Meghan before her wedding to Harry in 2018, described the former actress as narcissistic. Meghan is said to be lovely when things go her way, but can become a “monster” if things go wrong.
Another source said a florist was berated over the phone for half an hour for posting an unimportant detail on a bouquet made for Meghan.
Meghan’s rep did not respond to the allegations. However, several current and former staff members have come to the Sussexes’ defense.
In interviews with Us Weekly in late September, current and former staff described Meghan as empathetic and solution-oriented.
The staff revealed that there were times when Meghan would email them at 5am but did not require them to respond outside of official working hours.
Meanwhile, a former employee said Meghan never hesitated to praise someone for a good idea. She also had a habit of sending thank-you emails to her team after each successful major trip.
Ben Browning, former content director at Archewell – the company founded by the Sussexes, described the working environment promoted by Meghan and Harry as positive and supportive.
Mr. Browning affirmed that he continued to be friends with Harry and Meghan after leaving the company, and pointed out that negative stories about Meghan were untrue.
An anonymous employee shared that she had never heard Meghan raise her voice, always gave clear instructions at work and had good intentions in solving problems. According to this person, Archewell is not a criminal organization, but everyone in the company tries to do good.
