Meghan Markle has raised eyebrows after referring to herself as one of the “most bullied people”, with one royal author telling the Duchess of Sussex to “remember the insults thrown at Kate”.

Earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex visited the Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara, where she spoke to teenagers about her experiences with being bullied.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Larissa May, the co-founder of Girl Inc. revealed Meghan opened up on being “one of the most bullied people in the world” during the event.
Markle’s claim to be one of the world’s “most bullied people” has sparked a mixed response, with author and former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond telling OK! Magazine that Meghan was not the first royal to suffer bullying.

“No one should have to read disgusting abuse like that at any point in their lives,” she said.
“Sadly, though, Meghan is not alone in being bullied.
“Remember the press abuse of Fergie as the Duchess of Pork?
“Remember the insults thrown at Catherine… ‘Waity Katie?'”

Ms Bond pointed to recent online abuse targeted at the Princess of Wales following her absence from public life amid lifesaving cancer treatment.
“Even (Kate’s video) didn’t stop the revolting conspiracy theories on social media,” she said.
“Meghan is far from alone in being a victim of abuse.”
“Kate was called ‘Waity Katie’ waiting to marry William,” Meghan told Winfrey while describing her own racist treatment by the press after meeting Harry.
“While I imagine that was hard (and) I do, I can’t picture what that felt like, this is not the same.
“And if a member of this family will comfortably say ‘we’ve all had to deal with things that are rude’, rude and racist are not the same.”
Kate and William were reportedly displeased that Meghan repeated the cruel nickname in a globally televised interview.
Another friend of the couple added it was downright “bloody rude” of Meghan to publicly call the Princess of Wales “Kate”.
