After his beloved “grandmother” passed away and his father King Charles ascended the throne , Prince William is now the next heir to the British throne. After Prince William, the second in line to the throne will be the prince’s eldest son George.

While the Queen was alive, Prince William and his wife, Princess Kate Middleton, regularly topped polls as the most popular members of the royal family , second only to the Queen.
And many see William as a hopeful symbol of the modern monarchy .
In 2017, Prince William announced that he would step down as an air ambulance pilot to become a full-time member of the British royal family. He previously served in the British armed forces from 2006 to 2013.
Since then, the prince has shed the British tabloids’ nickname of “sloppy Wills” , and the William-Kate couple have received positive media views in recent years as one of the world’s most glamorous couples , with a charisma on par with Hollywood stars .

Some have recently suggested that the monarchy should skip a generation – and that William should be king now, not his father.
Prince William has expressed his desire to ensure the monarchy changes to stay relevant with the times, and in 2016 he praised his “grandmother” as “the best role model for the job”.
